Get Involved at Our Savior’s
Women and men from Our Savior’s care for the altar paraments and prepare Holy Communion at each Divine Service.
A Christian women’s ministry that focuses on the needs of the church-at-large and our local congregation; this group meets the first Tuesday of each month for topical presentations by guest speakers and fellowship.
Members of all ages can participate by singing in the choir, ringing hand bells in the hand bell choir, playing an instrument, or singing a solo.
Nursery volunteers provide a valuable service by providing childcare during the Sunday late services. The nursery is located in the lower level and is supervised by an adult with student helpers.
Each week the Stewards assist our financial secretary by tabulating members’ offerings.
Our Savior’s makes use of volunteers in the church office for a variety of tasks.
Proceeds from an annual rummage sale benefit selected ministries of the church. It takes many volunteers and you can help.
Social Activities Group
This group of men and women organize, plan and implement various Christian fellowship opportunities within the congregation, i.e., Worship by the Shore, the Christmas Giving Tree, the annual chili cook-off, and similar activities. Nearly all of their events are used to raise funds for various missions and ministries of the Church.
Summer Softball Team
A Christian softball league plays every summer at the Town of Sheboygan Fireman’s Park. This co-ed league is a fun way to stay fit and active. The league is open to those who are 8th grade and older.
Ushers are needed for all Divine Services at Our Savior’s and any confirmed member is encouraged to participate.
Volunteers are needed to help with our youth ministry events, i.e., Wednesday evening fun nights, Sunday afternoon activities, bowling, Blue Harbor outings, leaf raking, brat fries, and other service activities involving our youth.
Our Savior’s Serves the Community
Christmas Giving Tree
Every Christmas season a tree is decorated in Our Savior’s narthex. Each ornament on the tree represents a particular need for a child or family in the Sheboygan area. Our members take an ornament, purchase the gift and drop it off back at the church placing it under the tree. The gifts are then delivered before Christmas.
Citywide Vacation Bible School
Each summer VBS is held at Lutheran High School in Sheboygan during the third week of June. Teachers and helpers are needed for all age levels and any confirmed member may volunteer. For information, please contact the church office (452-4005).
Our Savior’s helps people with food needs by donating to a food pantry. A barrel is located in the narthex to receive donations. You may also make cash donations by marking one of our “Love” envelopes with the notation “Food Pantry.” Volunteers distribute seasonal food baskets to those in our congregation and community who are in need at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter.
