The Decorating Committee arranges the visual arts of liturgical worship. The visual arts of worship communicate the gospel by setting an appropriate mood through the cut and color of fabric, wood work, symbols, etc. both inside and outside the sanctuary. The committee is open to both men and women. Having older children and teens assist their parents in the work of the committee helps them learn the importance of what happens in the divine service.
“Nor am I at all of the opinion that all the arts are to be overthrown and cast aside by the gospel, as some super spiritual people protest; but I would gladly see all the arts…in service of Him who has given and created them.” – Martin Luther
